When cruising with Rockport Cruises you’ll experience the benefits of smaller tour groups – shorter wait times, faster check-in at the castle, and a closer view of the islands! Our 4 hour cruise includes a 2.5 hour stop at Boldt Castle. Cruise past Zavikon Island (the world’s shortest International bridge), opulent Millionaire’s Row, the St. Lawrence Seaway and the 1000 Islands Bridge as you see the area’s most breathtaking scenery.
In 1904, construction was well underway on the 120 room castle when tragedy struck. A telegraph arrived at the Castle announcing the death of George C. Boldt’s wife, Louise. Three hundred artisans and craftsmen were commanded to stop all construction. A broken-hearted Boldt never returned to the Island. Today, an ongoing major restoration is underway to stabilize and restore this magnificent piece of Island history.
Tours are not wheelchair accessible. Please contact our office for further information.
